Activity 1 - Describing pictures
Instructions:
Look at the following pictures and use adjectives to describe the what you see/the characters shown.
Things to think about:
- What are the characters wearing? What colour are their clothes?
- Are they happy or sad?
- Are they tall or small?
- Are they beautiful or ugly?
- What colours can you see?
- Is it a nice place?
- Can you see any trees/buildings/wildlife...? What do they look like?

Activity 2 - Adjective/noun worksheet
Instructions:
Copy down the sentences below. Circle the adjectives and underline the noun it describes!
(if there are any unfamiliar words, just ask your teacher what they mean! Keep a vocabulary bank in the back of your notebook to record new words)
Activity 3 - Writing your own sentences
Instructions:
After completing the worksheet, it's time to create your own sentences! Write your sentences on the board, making sure you include at least one adjective and one noun. Take it in turns to circle and underline the adjective(s)/noun(s) in your partners sentences.
Activity 4 - Describe your partner
Instructions:
Sit opposite your partner and describe their appearance to the teacher. Write a small fact-file describing what you see.
Things to think about:
- What colour is their hair?
- What colour are their eyes?
- What kind of clothes are they wearing? Are the bright or dark?
- Are they tall or small?
- Do they look happy or sad?
